The Magnificent Seven and other Great Elephants of The Kruger National Park

The Magnificent Seven were a select group of large bull elephants who roamed the Kruger National Park in South Africa .

They first gained prominence throughout the 1970's and 1980's and although they are all now dead, their legends live on, and their impressive ivory can be seen at the Elephant Museum at Letaba Restcamp.

The original Magnificent Seven were : Dzombo, Joao, Kambaku, Mafunyane, Ndlulamithi, Shawu & Shingwedzi.

There are now a new crop of giant tuskers roaming the Park, the largest of which is called Duke - named after the waterhole he is known to frequent.
